First Cuban Edición Limitada of 2011 Ships

The first of this year’s Cuban Edición Limitadas—the Hoyo de Monterrey Short Hoyo Pirámides—has been released and is shipping to retailers across the world.

According to an announcement by global Cuban cigar distributor Habanos S.A., the Short Hoyo Pirámides are expected to hit shops by this week.

It’s the first cigar in a series of three 2011 Edición Limitadas, with the Cohiba 1966 and the Ramon Allones Allones Extra to follow later this year.

Classified as a “Forum” in the Cuban cigar factories, the Short Hoyo Pirámides measures 5 3/8 inches by 46 ring gauge and comes packaged in wooden boxes of 10. Though prices have yet to be set worldwide, you can expect to pay around 10 euros ($14.40) each in Italy.

As a brand, Hoyo de Monterrey is already blended to be one of the mildest cigars in the entire Habanos portfolio, and the Short Hoyo Pirámides was created in the same flavor spectrum, intended for “those who prefer Habanos of lighter flavors” according to the official press release.
